1. 10% ethanol blending
Why in news - India has achieved the target of blending 10% ethanol in petrol (on June 5, 2022) five months ahead of schedule. (Target – Nov 2022).
Key Points –
• National Policy on Biofuels (2018) envisaged a target of 20% ethanol blending in petrol by 2030. 20% target was advanced to 2025-26.
• India has installed 40% power generation capacity from non-fossil fuel in Nov 2021. (nine years ahead of 2030 target).
• The average carbon footprint is 0.5 tonnes per person per annum in India. (global - 4 tonnes).
• India aims to restore 26 million hectares of land by 2030.
2. Corbevax Vaccine
Why in news - Corbevax gets approval from Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) as first mix-and-match booster vaccine.

• It means those who have received Covishield or Covaxin as their 1st or 2nd dose can take it as a 3rd booster shot.
