Why in news – Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has been awarded the work to develop the first MMLP in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

2. 41st India International Trade Fair (IITF)

Why in news – Piyush Goyal inaugurated the 41st edition of IITF has started on Nov 1 in New Delhi.

3. Ganga Vilas Cruise

Why in news – The world's longest luxury river cruise (4,000 km) would set sail in Jan 2023.

• It would commence on Jan 10, 2023 from Varanasi and would culminate in Dibrugarh, Assam on Mar 1, 2023.

• It would also be passing through Bangladesh covering 1,100 km.

• The 50-day long journey would cover 27 river systems including Ganga & Brahmaputra.

1. UN World Population Prospectus 2022

Why in news – It projected that the world’s population reach 8 billion people on Nov 15, 2022.

Key Points –

• Annual growth has fallen from a high of 2.1% between 1962 and 1965 to below 1% in 2020.

• Projection - 8.5 billion in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and a peak of about 10.4 billion in the 2080s.

• India's population is expected to surpass China in 2023.

2. India’s Urban Infrastructure

Why in news – According to World Bank report, India’s urban infrastructure needs USD 840 billion in investments over next 15 years.

Why in news – It is observed on Nov 12 commemorating the birth anniversary of Indian ornithologist Salim Ali.
