1. Operation Megh-Chakra

Why in news - CBI launched “Operation Megh-Chakra” against the circulation and sharing of child sexual abuse material online.

Key Points –

• Raids were conducted across 20 states and UTs based on the information given by the Interpol unit of New Zealand through Singapore.

Other Operations –

• Operation Meghdoot - To identify and apprehend individuals and gangs which spread child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online.
• Operation Carbon – Similar operation in 2021 by CBI.

2. Nano Urea Plant

Why in news – India’s 2nd nano urea plant has been ready in Phulpur, Prayagraj.

Key Points –

• It would be IFFCO's 2nd nano urea plant in the country. (1st - Kalol, Gujarat).

• In the 2nd phase, plants have been set up at Aonla (Bareilly) and Phulpur (Prayagraj).

1. Gay Marriage Approved

Why in news - Cubans overwhelmingly approved gay marriage and adoption in a referendum.

Key Points –

• In 2020, Costa Rica legalized same-sex marriage.

• An 2019, Ecuador’s Constitutional Court ruled that same-sex couples could marry.

• Cuban President - Miguel Díaz-Canel (1st non-Castro to lead the nation since its 1959 revolution).

Why in news - Far-right leader Giorgia Meloni has won the Italy's Prime Ministerial election.

Key Points –

• Party name - Brothers of Italy.

• She would be India's first female prime minister.

• Italy is the EU's third-biggest economy.

Why in news - Super Typhoon Noru hit the Polillo and Luzon islands of Philippines.

Why in news – MoHUA has launched Swachh Toycathon (national competition) under the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav.

• Aim - To explore solutions for the use of waste in the manufacturing of toys.

• MoHUA’s knowledge partner - Center for Creative Learning, IIT Gandhinagar.

1. NASA’s DART Mission

Why in news - Nasa’s DART spacecraft successfully crashed into the asteroid Dimorphous on Sept 27, 2022.

Key Points –

• DART - Double Asteroid Redirection Test.

• It was intentionally crashed on an asteroid to test a unique defence technology.

• Dimorphous is a moon to a slightly larger asteroid called Didymos.

• Aim – to defend Earth against future asteroid hit.

• DART was launched by a SpaceX rocket in Nov 2021.

1. Antyodaya Diwas

Why in news - It is celebrated every year on Sept 25 to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Key Points –

• Antyodaya means upliftment of the poorest of the poor.

• He launched a monthly journal ‘Rashtra Dharma’ in 1940s from Lucknow.

• He started the weekly magazine ‘Panchjanya’ and a daily magazine ‘Swadesh’.

• Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- NRLM was launched in Nov 2015.

• BJP and Jan Sangh adopted his ideology of “integral humanism” as an official doctrine in 1965.

1. Hermann Kesten Award 2022

Why in news - Meena Kandasamy has been honoured with the Hermann Kesten Prize 2022.

• It is given by the PEN Centre in Germany’s Darmstadt.

• PEN Center has also honoured the website “Weiter Schreiben” (Keep writing) with a special award for encouragement.

Why in news – Bihar government has decided to promote the Surjapuri and Bajjika dialects.

• Surjapuri dialect –

A. Mainly spoke in Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia and Araria.

B. It is a mix of Bangla, Urdu and Hindi.

C. Name Surjapuri comes from Surjapur pargana.

• Bajjika Dialect –

A. Mainly spoken in Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar and Samastipur.

B. It is a mix of Hindi and Maithili.

2. Atlas Moth Insect

Why in news – Atlas moth has been discovered in the Harnatand forest area of Valmiki Tiger Reserve.

Key Points –

• It belongs to class Insecta or Hexapoda.

• It is found in tropical forests.
