Why in news - NITI Aayog has launched the India’s first national electric freight platform – e-FAST India.
Key Points –
• e-FAST India - Electric Freight Accelerator for Sustainable Transport – India.
• It was launched in collaboration with World Resources Institute (WRI).
• It is supported by the World Economic Forum, CALSTART and RMI India.
• The launch of E-Fast India was followed by the launch of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Evaluator.

1. King Charles III
Why in news - King Charles III ascends the throne of the United Kingdom.
Key Points –
• Charles III became the king of the UK as well as 14 other nations including Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
• The Commonwealth realm is a group of 14 countries that recognise the British monarch as their head of state.
Previous Charles –
• King Charles I (1629-49) – He is the only British sovereign whose rule led to revolution and the temporary abolition of the monarchy.

2. Indo-Pacific Economic Framework’s (IPEF)
Why in news - India has opted to stay out of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework’s (IPEF) trade pillar.
Key Points –
• It includes four pillars. India decided to join three pillars of IPEF.

• Supply chain resilience
• Infrastructure and decarbonization

• Recently, first in-person ministerial meeting of IPEF was held in Los Angeles.

• It is an indigenously-designed Nilgiri-class frigate constructed by Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL).
• It was named by Charu Singh.
• Previous two ships under Project 17A – Nilgiri (launch - Sept 28, 2019) and Udaygiri (May 17, 2022).

2. Braj Basi Lal (B B Lal)
Why in news - Archaeologist B B Lal who led excavation at Ramjanmabhoomi site dies at 101.

• He wrote of the “pillar-base theory” and claimed to have found temple-like pillars which would have formed the foundation of the Babri Masjid.
• He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan (2000) and Padma Vibhushan (2021).
